my wednesdays are filling up again

I don’t have much to say today - I’ve had a headache for two straight days now, and nothing is helping.  So I’m just focusing on this:

America’s Next Top Model: Cycle 10

ANTM is back on the 20th!  And Paulina Porizkova - who I loved in Her Alibi - is replacing Twiggy as a judge!  I loved Twiggy, but think it’ll be fun to switch it up.  And they’re heading back to New York, where the show started!

Let the modeling begin!

Yesterday, the BF took me out on a real date!

It’s not that we don’t see each other all the time - we do.  But since we both love hanging out with friends so much, most of our time together (with just the two of us) is just spent hanging out on our couch.  Which can - sometimes - make it more like we’re roommates than BF/GF.  So, we try to go out on “real” dates at least once a month.   You know, to keep the romance alive.  Or something like that.

So yesterday, he took me on an ”I-don’t-really-care-about-these-things-but-I-love-you-and-know-you-love-this-stuff-so-I’ll-take-you-as-a-Christmas-present” date!  To see My Fair Lady, one of my favorite musicals of all time.  At the Opera House, my favorite venue in Boston - it’s just so amazingly beautiful.  On Opening Night, which means that people actually got a little dressy because Opening Night is an occasion!

Everything was amazing: the entire cast, the music (including my favorite, “Wouldn’t it be Loverly”), the constantly changing stage scenery.  I loved it.  And since we started the night with some amazing food at Kingston Station (if you live in Boston and haven’t tried it, trust me - go there ASAP), and got home to watch some of the election returns, it was really a perfect night for me.

rock the vote, people!

I Voted!

I love the presidential primaries.  They get me all excited - you get to choose someone to represent you to the entire world!  You get to try and make a difference!  And this year, you know that - no matter who wins the primary - somebody other than George W. will be in the freaking White House.  (And as long as that person is NOT Huckabee, it’s gotta be an improvement.)

So, whether you’re Democrat or Republican or Independent or Green or anything else - vote!  And if you aren’t registered to vote yet, isn’t today a good day to sign up?  Just go to Rock the Vote for information and to register.

nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah!

Does it make me a b*tch if I am enjoying the pain of the Patriots fans I know?

It’s just… living in Boston and NOT being a Pats fan, and having to listen to people talk day in and out about how awesome they are, and how their perfection is godlike, and about how the sun shines out of Tom Brady’s ass?  And the fact that I’ve had to deal with these fans telling me all season that I was just jealous of how good they are, and then announcing that they can’t wait to repeat their perfect season next year, and then telling me that I was lucky that my Packers didn’t have to lose to them in the Superbowl?  And, of course, the fact that I hate hate HATE Randy Moss?  Well, it all adds up to makes me ecstatic that the Giants won last night.

But I’m keeping it inside, for the most part.  I’m restraining myself from running around the office yelling, “Nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah, nyah!  You guys are LOSERS!”  So that’s something, right?

Brett continues to RULEFor me, it’s totally appropriate to start the month of love* by mentioning that MSN has ranked Brett Favre as one of the 10 sexiest quarterbacks in history.  Excuse me as I salivate.

Other sexy QBs that made the list include Joe Namath (in my book, any guy who is comfortable enough with his manliness to do an advertisement for pantyhose is pretty hot), Donovan McNabb (such a fun, classy guy!), Johnny Unitas (the original heart throb QB), and Matt Leinart (who, since he went to USC, will always be on my list of favorites).

I’m not as solidly behind Randall Cunningham (who I admittedly don’t know much about) or Doug Flutie (who, while he sounds like a really nice guy, doesn’t really strike my fancy), but I can see why they’d be on this list.

But - Tom Brady?  Tony Romo?  Matt Hasselbeck?  Are these jokes?  Tom Brady is not even CLOSE to manly, and looks cross-eyed half the time!  Tony Romo is a giant toolbox with awful taste in women and a doofy look on his face all the time!  And Matt Hasselbeck?  I don’t even know where to start.

Where is David Carr, with his chiseled features and come-hither eyes**?  Where is Steve Young, a HOT, well-spoken, intelligent, and all-around good guy?  And where is Joe Montana’s amazing smile?

Clearly MSN needs to hire me (and my friend Zo, who sent me the link to the ranking) to rank QB hotness.

* Yeah, month of love is cheesy, I know.  But it’s American Heart Month!  And the month of Hallmark’s Love Holiday!

** Do I sound like a romance novelist? Do guys even have come-hither eyes?
