Yesterday, the BF took me out on a real date!Â
It’s not that we don’t see each other all the time - we do. But since we both love hanging out with friends so much, most of our time together (with just the two of us) is just spent hanging out on our couch. Which can - sometimes - make it more like we’re roommates than BF/GF. So, we try to go out on “real” dates at least once a month.  You know, to keep the romance alive. Or something like that.
So yesterday, he took me on an ”I-don’t-really-care-about-these-things-but-I-love-you-and-know-you-love-this-stuff-so-I’ll-take-you-as-a-Christmas-present” date! To see My Fair Lady, one of my favorite musicals of all time. At the Opera House, my favorite venue in Boston - it’s just so amazingly beautiful. On Opening Night, which means that people actually got a little dressy because Opening Night is an occasion!
Everything was amazing: the entire cast, the music (including my favorite, “Wouldn’t it be Loverly”), the constantly changing stage scenery. I loved it. And since we started the night with some amazing food at Kingston Station (if you live in Boston and haven’t tried it, trust me - go there ASAP), and got home to watch some of the election returns, it was really a perfect night for me.

Anna - that sounds like a wonderful date! I love my fair lady, and I can’t believe I didn’t even know it was playing.
I’m trying to picture where Kingston Station is. Is it by Foley’s? I’m so seldomly downtown that I’m completely out of touch!
Yes, it’s right next to JJ Foley’s. I think it just opened a few months ago (I remember reading about it on Daily Candy when they opened). Go - you’ll love it!!!
