AlexisT and Me

“A laugh is a smile that bursts.”

(Photo shows AlexisT and me on Spring Break, Senior Year of College – aren’t we hilarous?)

mr. splashy pants

Oh please oh please oh please, go vote for Green Peace to name a whale Mr. Splashy Pants.

Please?  I would die happy!

(Voting ends on November 30th, so go vote now!  I must know that there’s a whale in the world named Mr. Splashy Pants!)

be thankful…

… that you’re probably better with plants than I am.

Dead Cactus 3

Who manages to kill a cactus?

Happy Thanksgiving!

it’s like fate

I just got home from my Sunday football bar (good game, Packers!), flipped on the tv, and randomly surfed over to TBS… just in time to see the fight scene from Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. You know, where Mark Darcy (played by the yummy Colin Firth) drags Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant, another Brit I love) out of a museum and throws him into a fountain, then tries to drown him in 16 inches of water?

The fight scenes between Mark and Daniel in the two Bridget Jones movies are some of my favorite scenes ever. I love them so much that I have to look them up on YouTube at least once a month – so freakin’ funny!

A Packer win and a British fight scene. What else could I ask for in a day?

ow ow ow ow ow

I crawled into bed around 11:30 last night, exhausted and ready to pass out.  I flopped onto my back, then rolled over to make sure my alarm was set.  As I flipped onto my back again, my neck let out a scream of protest.

Yes, I managed to injure myself rolling over in bed.

I woke up about once per hour last night, and tried to reposition myself in a way that would help my poor neck.  No luck.  Today, my neck is so stiff and sore that I can’t turn or tip my head to the left at all.  I’m sitting at work now, trying to stretch my neck out without crying, while wondering if I should be doing something else.  An ice pack?  Heat pad?  I have no idea – I’m actually pretty tough and don’t usually have these kinds of problems.

So clearly, the best thing to do is go online and buy new pillows that I’ve been craving forever.   I can’t wait until they arrive.

ready for the winter wonderland…

I’ve been on the hunt for a new winter coat for a few months now.  I wanted something functional that would go with most of my clothes, but was a little different from the black peacoat style winter coat I’ve been wearing since I moved out east.

I love color, but I wear so many different ones that I couldn’t think of one colored coat that would go with all my clothes… so reluctantly decided that I had to get a neutral jacket.  I have a winter white one (from H&M last year) that I love… but let’s face it, winter white is not always practical.  After a LOT OF online and catalog searching for ideas, I decided that I needed either a gray coat or a black/white tweed one.

Oh, and I’m cheap, so refuse to spend more than $100 on a coat.

I’ve been looking and looking for a new coat that would fit the bill… and finally found one at Nordstrom this past weekend!  And it was under my budget!

Tulle Mod Wool Coat

I got this coat, in grey.  I wore it today – it’s not the thickest coat in the world, but it worked well for today’s high 30s temps – hooray!

Now, on to finding non-ugly snow boots….

loving it

This intro to the Packers vs. Broncos game 2 weeks ago makes me cry. I love it.

in other news…

… I still hate the dentist.

Ow.

i’m so high, i have no idea what’s going on…

I’ve spent the past few days fighting a head cold – I even had to take yesterday off of work because I was actually sick!  Ugh.  Everyone knows that taking a sick day because you’re actually sick blows.

I did learn something from being sick though.  When you go to buy Sudafed, CVS doesn’t keep it in the aisles anymore!  You have to ask the cashiers for a box, and you have to show ID and sign a form that says you are who you say you are.  Apparently people buying Sudafed (or stealing it) to get high or create other drugs is a huge issue.  Hmmm.  Maybe I should be paying more attention to the news, because this took me totally by surprise.

So, I’m sitting at work now, all hopped up on my 2 Sudafeds.  Woohoo!  Let the weekend fun begin.
