the good, the bad, and the ugly
This past weekend was an interesting mix of awesomeness and misery:
The Good
* Checking out a few Open House New York events – I have to figure out who could start this up in Boston!
* Wandering around Central Park on a gorgeous day and people watching.
* Hanging out with college friends.
The Bad
* Getting violently ill (for no apparent reason), thus ruining Saturday night and making every freaking blood vessel in my face pop. It’s not attractive.
The Ugly
* Watching my Trojans and Packers hand wins to their opponents.
I guess the good outweighs the bad. Maybe. I haven’t actually decided yet.
self esteem
I’m completely obsessed with Dove’s Campaign for Real Beauty, and have been ever since they launched it. It’s a gorgeous campaign - from both the marketing and social conscience perspectives- and every time I see a print or TV ad, my eyes well up. I especially love their latest commercial, which you can see by clicking here.
I’ve been blessed with parents who always made my sister and me understand that beauty goes beyond physical characteristics to encompass spirit and heart and drive and compassion and action. It’s because of their support (and hippie ideals) that I’ve never had to deal with a low self esteem… and I just wanted to publicly say, “Thanks.”
super super
It’s always nice when you find out that other people love the same things you do. Like Target, for example. It’s definitely Super Super.
