Only 40 More Years Until Retirement
That was fun. I love it when a plan comes together…
The PC Posse came to Boston this weekend to help me celebrate my birthday, and I’m still tired from the festivities. My closef-sized apartment housed five people – Alexis, Ali, Nicole, me & my boy – and one rowdy pug, which, when combined with the 90+ degree & 99% humidity days, made for a hot and sweaty time. But it was worth it.
We spent Saturday wandering around Boston, looking for Lexi’s wallet, the perfect summer dress, and food. We stumbled upon the Boston Pride parade, which was made WAY cooler when Alexis and I made our way onto a locker room float, with lots of half-naked gay men. We made out in a faux-shower to explosive cheers from the crowd. Okay, we didn’t really do that, but we talked about it. We also talked about “the return of the bush,” women on top, stupid college memories, girly crushes (more on that later) becoming street vendors, and people that get married too young, amongst other things.
After taking some cold showers (it was HOT, I tell you!), 10 of us made our way to dinner at Naked Fish, then out to drink away the night at The Dockside, followed by The Harp. Sure, we were surrounded by cheesy Mass-holes, but the music was d*mn good, and we all know I love to shake my groove thing. One of the girls got lucky (I’m not mentioning any names), and I got some late night pizza. Hell yeah!
Sunday morning came, complete with hangovers, the NY girls leaving, and the (unsuccessful) hunt for a light brunch. Since it was still WAY too freakin’ hot to deal with sitting in my un-airconditioned apartment, we decided to go see Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The movie, the air-conditioning, and my ICEE were all really good.
And now, I’m 25. Woo hoo!
